✅️SUMO RICE IS NOT FROM JAPAN

🔹️ Although Sumo rice is commonly used for making sushi, it is not grown in Japan. Instead, it is harvested in California, USA.

🔹️ The name Calrose comes from a combination of “California” (where Sumo rice is cultivated) and “Rose”, taken from a popular rice variety from Louisiana known as Blue Rose.

✅️ONCE AWARDED WORLD’S BEST RICE

🔹️ Calrose rice is one of the most famous and widely planted rice varieties in the United States, especially in California since the 1940s. Besides the USA, Calrose rice is also grown in Australia and the Pacific Rim region.

🔹️Calrose rice was also selected as the World’s Best Rice in 2013 at the Annual World Rice Conference.

✅️NUTRITIONAL CONTENT OF SUMO RICE

🔹️ Calrose rice offers several unique benefits compared to regular rice. It is lower in calories and is considered a healthy source of carbohydrates.

🔹️ This may explain why Sumo rice is often believed to help babies gain weight consistently. Mothers also prefer Sumo rice because the grains are smaller and easier for babies to chew.

🔹️ Each ¼ cup serving (57 g) of Sumo rice provides approximately:

🔹️ Calories: 170 kcal

🔹️ Carbohydrates: 13%

🔹️ Fat: 0 g

🔹️Protein: 3 g

🔹️ Sodium: 5 mg

✅️WHAT DOES SUMO RICE TASTE LIKE?

🔹️ When cooked, Calrose rice tends to be slightly sticky, meaning the grains cling together.

🔹️ It is a great alternative for making sushi, rice balls, paella, or dishes inspired by Japanese and Korean cuisine.

✅️HOW TO COOK SUMO RICE

🔹️ Cooking Sumo rice (Calrose rice) is very simple:

🔹️ Add 1 cup of Calrose Sumo Rice and 2 cups of water into a rice cooker.

🔹️ Press the cook button and let it cook as usual.

🔹️Once done, allow the rice to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
